If you happen to be in London, and are willing to participate in something novel and interesting, please read Luca’s announcement below:
Smart Mandolin Testing, 6-10th November, London
Hi, my name is Luca Turchet and I am a researcher at the Center for Digital Music of Queen Mary University of London.
My research is about the design of novel musical instruments and as I am a mandolin player, I have developed also a novel concept of mandolin.
At these links you can find an example of a mandolin augmented with sensor technology, a technical demonstration of the Hyper-Mandolin – prototype 1, and a live performance of “Omaggio a Stoccolma” (“Homage to Stockholm”) at Fylkingen concert venue for the Kulturnatt Stockholm 2017 (a/la = 432 Hz) featuring a Hyper-mandolin:
I have evolved that prototype creating a Smart Mandolin, which features wireless connectivity and embedded intelligence.
I contacted Christos from theMandolinTuner because I am searching for some mandolin players to test my instrument. I am in particular searching for mandolin players that also have some experience with effects or instruments for electronic music. I plan to conduct the experiments between 6th and 10th of November, in London.
Thanks! Luca Turchet
