Biography
Marissa Carroll began playing the mandolin in 2002 at the age of ten, and progressed rapidly on the instrument while playing with the Mandolins in Brisbane ensemble.

In 2006, despite her tender years Marissa was concertmaster and featured soloist with the Australasian Mandolin Orchestra on its tour of Germany and Holland and againwith the West Australian Mandolin Orchestra on its 2010 tour of Germany, France and Luxembourg.
In 2008, Marissa studied with internationally known U.K. mandolinist Alison Stephens at the Dartington International Music Summer School.
She has also performed with orchestras as a soloist in Brisbane, Perth, and Melbourne, and has appeared on the ABC radio across Australia.
Marissa completed her degree in music at the University of Queensland in 2012, with mandolin as her principal instrument.
She plays on a prized vintage Lyon and Healy mandolin from the early 1920s. a German bowl-back mandolin by Klaus Knorr and a Baroque mandolino by Alex Vervaert.
