Follia Piazzollesca by Victor Kioulaphides was composed for and dedicated to the Dutch Mandolin Chamber Orchestra Het CONSORT to commemorate the ten years of cooperation between composer and orchestra. This little gem of a piece was a surprise, an unexpected gift of the composer. The Follia Piazzollesca, as it is titled, was written expressly for the fine musicians of Het Consort. It is a short, modest piece, nothing like the bigger, more ambitious compositions Kioulaphides composed for Het CONSORT occasion; but very enjoyable piece.
