Hi reader

I am very happy because this week I managed to dedicate more time to the Mandolin Tuner blog so you will find many new articles to read, videos to watch, discs to listen and tabs to play!

... a new "Chris Discography" section has been created where I am gradually adding my recordings of the past, presence and future! This is a chance to introduce you to Greek Kantadas, a unique Greek music genre that consists of melodic songs performed with mandolin orchestras and choirs. Also you will find in this section my latest recording (2014) with "Mandolinarte", the Plucked Strings Orchestra I play the octave mandolin with as well as "Libermando", my planned recording for 2015!

...a new artist has been added in the Mandolin Tuner database. This one is from Japan and his name is Toru Izumi. Japan has a very active mandolin "community" and they focus more on the Italian repertoire.

...two Christmas mandolin tabs have been added. I started with the basics, so I selected "Jingle Bells" and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas"

...a collection with Christmas Discs has been added with nice mandolin music you can enjoy!

Selections from everyone's favorite holiday ballet, Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, newly arranged for mandolin ensemble.
Other plucked string arrangements on this disc include new interpretations of Llobet's Four Catalan Folksongs, Faure's Pavanne, Vivaldi's Concerto in D Major, and Delibes' Sous le Dome Epais. The Modern Mandolin Quartet was formed in 1985 to introduce audiences to the modern mandolin family of instruments and to increase the repertoire of original and arranged music for the instrument.
